Last Trip of 2009

I had so much fun seeing so many new and different things over the past 4 months. I am so glad that I got the chance to go with Richard and I can't wait to go again. I have been to 16 states that I had never been to before. We have our favorites and then we have some that we hate. No offense to anyone......we just don't like going there. Our favorite state is Colorado. It is beautiful. We also love New York. Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut is gorgeous also. We may have not been able to see everything that we would have liked to see since we were in the truck, but we plenty.
The new states that I got to see were.......
Massachusetts was the only state that we got to see for the first time together. He had already been to all of the other states before I ever went with him.
This was my last trip for right now. Decided to stay home during the winter and take care of our babies. Richard has a new job with Maverick.....a flatbed company. He starts Sunday December 13. He is very excited about it. He is actually already at Maverick. They were nice enough to put him in their hotel for the week since he was able to get there before his start date. He should be able to come home every weekend. We are so excited that he will be home more often. Also he will be staying in the southeast the majority of the time, but more than likely all of the time. This has been an awesome experience, and I hope for many more!!

A looong but fun trip!

This trip started in Amarillo, Texas and ended in Springfield, Massachusetts. Then from there to Odessa, Texas and then home!
We made another trip to The Big Texan Steakhouse. It is so very yummy. While we were there we had to walk in front of the web cam so that we could wave at my mom and dad who were watching on the Internet. We also saw a guy eat the 72 ounce steak challenge. If you can eat a 72 ounce steak, 3 fried shrimp, baked potato, salad, and a dinner roll within 1 hour, you get it for free. If not it cost you 72 dollars. The guy ate the whole thing with a few minutes to spare and then ate dessert and drank a whole pot of coffee. I don't know how he did it.
72 ounce steak stats.........
Klondike Bill...a professional wrestler ate 2 of the dinners back in 1960.
The oldest person to eat the steak was a 69 year old grandmother.
The youngest person was an 11 year old boy.
Frank Pastore...a former Cincinnati Reds pitcher ate the meal in 21 minutes in February 1976, he held onto that record for 21 years. On May 3, 1987 he ate the meal in 9 and 1/2 minutes.
That record was broken by the current champ Joey Chestnut on March 24, 2008. He ate the meal in 8 minutes and 52 seconds.
A 500 pound Bengal tiger ate the steak only in less than 90 seconds.
If you are ever in Amarillo, Texas on Historical Route 66, you must stop by and eat and visit the gift shop. You will not be disappointed.

We finally arrive in Odessa, TX, head back to Amarillo and then home. We were coming thru Oklahoma City and heard this loud awful noise.....scared me to death.
This is what we found.......

New York (1st time)

We passed New York City on the way to New Jersey after dark, so I didn't get to see much, but I did see this....
"Grandpa Moon"
The next morning, we crossed the Hudson River again, this time I could actually tell we were crossing a river.
New York City, as close as we could get, I hope in the very near future, we will actually get to go to New York City!
